In the race to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into their products and services, major tech companies worldwide are continually seeking innovative partnerships. The latest addition to this trend is Bengaluru-based Wipro, which has announced its collaboration with Google Cloud to integrate generative AI capabilities into its platform. This move follows in the footsteps of other Indian IT companies, such as TCS and Infosys, as Wipro aims to enhance its offerings and deliver AI-led transformations for its clients.


Wipro CEO Theirry Delaporte emphasized the company's commitment to investing in skills and capabilities in the AI space. By integrating Google Cloud's suite of generative AI products and services, including Vertex AI, Generative AI App Builder, and the Model Garden collection, with Wipro's own AI intellectual property, business accelerators, and pre-built industry solutions, the company aims to define and drive AI-led transformations for its clients.

To realize the full potential of AI, Wipro plans to train 20,000 associates in Google Cloud's generative AI technologies. This strategic partnership aims to foster innovation and deliver new levels of value for customers. Wipro's collaboration with Google Cloud will allow them to build and deploy generative AI solutions, enabling enterprises to tackle industry-specific challenges while enhancing functions such as consumer experiences, marketing, supply chain performance, financial modeling, workforce management, and sustainability.


Within this partnership, Wipro intends to develop generative AI as a core solution across its extensive consulting services. This includes digital marketing, financial services, customer experience, design thinking, and its global innovation labs (Lab45). By leveraging its crowdsourcing platform, Topcoder, Wipro aims to build and scale solutions that address client challenges effectively.


Wipro's expanded collaboration with Google Cloud presents incredible opportunities in the field of generative AI. By aligning their expertise and resources, the two companies aim to facilitate the secure, responsible, and scalable adoption of this transformative technology. Wipro's AI Centers of Excellence worldwide will be available to clients seeking to explore use cases for generative AI and develop tailored strategies. Additionally, generative AI will become a fundamental technology within the Wipro FullStride Cloud Studio, supporting cloud strategy and adoption while enhancing the Google Cloud Rapid Migration Program (RaMP).
