Garuda Aerospace sets sights on expanding operations with Agri Drone Subsidy

An Indian drone startup named Garuda Aerospace is the first business to obtain the Agri Drone Subsidies, which is a project of the Indian government to encourage the use of agricultural drones. Garuda Kisan Drones were distributed to eight farmers during a ceremony in Pune as part of the subsidy program. The drone business wants to grow its business and provide Indian farmers with wider access to Garuda Kisan Drones. In addition to making farming simpler and more effective, this will also boost agricultural production and lower food waste.


Farmers' management and monitoring of crop health may change as a result of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's approval of the Garuda Kisan drones. Moreover, they may be used to spot and pinpoint regions that need irrigation or fertilization, as well as to spray crops with pesticides and nutrients, reducing manual effort and boosting productivity. To assist farmers increase their yields and cutting expenses, the government promotes the adoption of this technology.

Get ₹1.5 Crore Technical Funding

Garuda Aerospace has assisted farmers in obtaining a 100% grant-in-aid for the purchase of agricultural drones and attachments, up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakhs, under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization of the Government of India. A 75% grant-in-aid has also been provided to farmer-producer associations for the acquisition of agricultural drones and accessories. With the aid of this effort, small-scale farmers in India are encouraged to employ agricultural drones.


On the occasion in Pune, eight farmers received Garuda Kisan drones. The business said that the subsidies, will increase operations and provide Indian farmers more access to Garuda Kisan Drones. The criteria of the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization have been modified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to now include a grant of up to 100% of the cost of the agricultural drone.

Garuda Aerospace and the drone sector as a whole have advanced significantly as a result of the Agro Drone Subsidies. Garuda Aerospace has the potential to have a big influence on the agriculture industry and help India become a drone technology leader with the cooperation of the government.
